The question

Whether the Commodity Exchange Act preempts Nevada gambling or sports-wagering law as applied to event contracts listed on a CFTC-designated contract market.

Crypto.com's U.S. derivatives exchange petitioned for review of the Ninth Circuit's Aug. 28, 2026 ruling for Nevada. It is one of three pending petitions on whether the CEA preempts state gambling law for sports event contracts.
