Prediction market law in Texas
No public action found
Texas has not acted against prediction markets but held a Senate hearing in September 2026 ahead of possible 2027 legislation.
No Texas cease-and-desist, lawsuit, or enacted law on prediction markets was found, and Attorney General Ken Paxton has not joined the multistate briefs against Kalshi. In March 2026, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick directed the Senate State Affairs Committee to study prediction-market gambling, and the committee heard testimony on September 15, 2026. Any bills would come in the regular session that begins in January 2027.
