Prediction market law in Missouri

In litigation

Missouri told six prediction-market operators to stop sports contracts or get licensed; Novig and Crypto.com sued the attorney general in federal court.

Missouri's regulated sports betting market launched on Dec. 1, 2025. In letters dated Sept. 16, 2026 and announced Sept. 18, 2026, Attorney General Catherine Hanaway told Kalshi, Polymarket US's exchange, Crypto.com's exchange, Robinhood, Novig and Underdog to stop offering sports contracts or get a state license, pay taxes and bar users under 21, within 30 days. PrizePicks, which got no letter, paused its sports product in the state in early October. As the deadline arrived on Oct. 16, 2026, Novig and Crypto.com's exchange filed separate federal suits seeking to block enforcement. No court ruling and no state lawsuit against an operator was found.
